Promoting Breast Cancer Prevention with Data Insights

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and with the power of Springbuk Insight Stream, you can do more than just raise awareness. Use the Breast Cancer Screening Insight to identify members who may have a gap in their breast cancer prevention.

According to the Center for Disease Control, “breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States (excluding certain skin cancers).” The US Preventive Services Task Force recommends that women aged 50 to 74 years get a screening mammogram every 2 years. The goal of screening is to catch cancers early, because as the CDC says, “early-stage cancers are easier to treat than later-stage cancers, and the chance of survival is higher.”

During the month of October, we’ll be highlighting our Breast Cancer Screening Insight Card with a pink ribbon and moving it to the top of your Insight Stream. Some of our users have already taken impactful action on closing the gap in care for breast cancer screening:

  • Springbuk has identified more than 77,000 members with a gap in care for breast cancer screening, and 25% of those members have closed their gap in care.
  • More than 49,000 members in Springbuk currently have a gap in care for breast cancer. This equates to 51% of the total members that are eligible for the screening guideline.
